These were unforgettable days for me, days with new people, intense training, tiring, examining myself, what can I say? Adam is amazing. A man confident and in love with his work. His style of training is accurate, untiring, very demanding! Steve – very positive, always fun and ready to help and this motivates you to put everything you can! I am thankful to each and every one of them. They gave me inspiration to always try and achieve something new. I am thankful for the team as they tried to make every day comfortable. These 5 days were days of exploring new and interesting things. I am thankful to myself for the decision not to back up and for giving myself opportunity to meet and train with Adam Walker. The feeling is terrific! With all due respect Baia, Marmaris 08.06-12.06.2023

P.s. I will be informing you about my successes in near future…

This is a game-changer! For the first time in my life, I think I have a glimpse of an understanding of how swimming actually works, both physically and mentally. After struggling for years with just being slow and/or completely exhausting myself, for the first time I can really feel myself gliding through the water at some speed. It’s not just a feeling: My stroke rate has gone down by 8-10 strokes in a 50m pool, that’s 20% less than before! It is like a door has opened up to a new world of possibilities and I’m already making plans for locations and distances I wouldn’t have dared to dream of before…
Adam is relentless and absolutely dedicated to teaching his stroke to his clients: He doesn’t let you off the hook and spends time with everyone until that magic a-ha moment when something clicks. Steve provided lots of additional tips and encouragement. With this coaching team, there was plenty of attention to every detail from every angle, and tons of video analysis which will also support practice at home.
What better way to learn than in a relaxed, fun atmosphere (there was dancing, too :-)), in such a beautiful place in Turkey, surrounded by wonderful people who share the same passion and love for the open water.

  3. John N

My third OW trip and Adam and Gemma still excellent organisation, patience plus bundles of encouragement.

Very friendly and a great atmosphere to learn/improve the technique that Adam makes look so easy.

This was my third OW trip, it never gets dull and always inspires me on to greater goals.

Thanks Adam and Gemma, I really enjoyed the time and grateful for the skills I seem to be learning.

  4. Ziad S

Choosing to come to Turkey and learn the OWT was the best decision to improve my swimming. Adam gave me cleared instructions and corrected my swimming technique and helped me reach my goal to swim 4.5 Km in only 4 days !!!!! He’s dedicated to his work. Whether you are experienced or a beginner, I definitely recommend everyone who’s looking for an amazing swimming experience in Marmaris, Turkey to book with Adam and Steve.

I have never been a big swimmer, but I do swim for my pleasure and to prevent back problems. The coaches explained the reasons behind every movement, and this was very helpful in understanding its advantages. Watching both underwater and above water videos was helpful in seeing the movements and the consequences on the posture. I could quickly learn the principles of the technique and apply them in open water swimmings in stunning settings and in a secure environment (during open water swimmings we were all the time followed by professionals monitors on canoes). I feel I still need a lot of training to swim in a more “automatic way”, but I can now swim longer distances with less effort, which is what I expected to learn in this camp. Adam and Steve are very dedicated. They are always willing to explain things again and again, and they provide personalized advice. I also enjoyed a lot the group, everyone was passionate about swimming and we were very supportive of each other.

Working with Adam has completely transformed the way I swim and use my body. I have done one on one training with Adam and participated in the Turkey camp.

Adam is an extremely talented and unique instructor. He thoughtfully balances the discipline of his technique with each individual swimmer’s goals and abilities. His measured approach continuously builds stability, technique, and efficiency. As a result, swimmers of ALL abilities dramatically improved their swimming technique and open water confidence.

Beyond the genius of Adam’s technique lies the passion and enthusiasm with which he teaches. Adam is ALL IN, all the time. I have never worked with anyone more focused and committed to teaching. His exuberance is contagious! The camaraderie, support and lightheartedness at the camp was such a blast. Don’t delay, register now!

We (my wife and I ) had a great time in Turkey. Really enjoyed the ocean swimming.
I would recommend Adam Walkers technique. I have done a lot of swimming over the years, triathlon – and sea swims.
I have not yet mastered the technique, but compared to my old strong – there is a big difference in muscular tension – Adams technique takes pressure of your neck, lower back and shoulders. Really great if you want to swim for life (health wise) and endurance and very energy efficient. If you get the chance, learn his technique!!!

  8. Gunther Desmedt

I started doing triathlon in 2013 with the ultimate goal to qualify for the Ironman 140.6 in Hawaï.
Although I knew I had potential, I also knew I had one extremely weak point which was the swimming part.
The first years I had some private lessons and became member of a swimming club but although I made some little progress I always hated the swim training sessions and felt tired after every swim.
In 2018 I saw movies of Adam ‘Ocean’ Walker. I knew immediately I was going to do this as a last aid. If this was not going to work, I knew that the dream would end here.
So in May 2019 I went on a five-day camp in Turkey with Adam & Steve and 13 other swimmers.
Maybe the most important for me was that I found the pleasure of swimming, something which I had never experienced in my whole life.
As a result I gained 2 minutes after only 2 months of practicing.
I will never forgot what Adam (+ Steve) thaught me.

A five day technical swim camp in Turkey was the perfect setting to revise my technique (after a 1 day Masterclass earlier this year).

Throughout the week, Adam and Steve set about making sure we were all given the right amount of attention, focus and feedback and they truly went above and beyond the call of duty providing so much valuable feedback, both in and out of the pool/open water.

This camp (as well as the 1 day Masterclass) is perfect for a novice, a ‘leisure’ swimmer (that’s me), triathletes and anyone wanting to maximise their efficiency in the water (pool or open water) whilst minimising energy expenditure.

The Turkey camp was a perfect way to spend a week with like-minded individuals where I feel I have made a new group of swim friends.

I cannot recommend the Ocean Walker technique highly enough – what are you waiting for? Book it now!

  10. Trevor Baker

Not a sporty but swim for my own enjoyment, definitely the slowest on the turkey swim camp but never felt as if I shouldn’t be there , Adam and Steve are both very passionate about the ocean walker technique, staying out in the evenings with the group with advice and stories, just need to practice now , hope to go again thanks guys
Never give up on your dreams

  11. Pak Him Lai.

This is the best. I recommended it to everyone. Everything was perfect. I’m signing up next for the colder water experience next March in Malta.

  12. Frank agren

I’ve been a casual but regular swimmer that started freestyle swim 6 months ago and after experiencing annoying shoulder pain I decided to do some research to alter my stroke. That’s how I discovered the Ocean Walker technique, and Adam’s inspiring story.
Even though I’d never attempted any long distance swimming, I signed up for the Marmaris camp. And it has been a real treat, well beyond expectations. First, Adam and Gemma’s applied pedagogy and precise technical insights, provided in a very professional and complementary way, allowed to pack an incredible amount of learning and self improvement in such a short period. Intuitive understanding of the stroke now gives me a sound basis to build upon during my daily Caribbean swims, and opens up bigger dreams.
Finally, the human experience among this international group of incredible people brought together by the simple pleasure of swimming was a lifetime experience in itself.

  13. Peter Kwan

Before the camp I had been checking available camps online as both myself and my partner needed to work on our open water swim technique for Triathlons. Having searched online it was a toss between Total Immersion and Ocean Walker. Ocean Walker’s course content of stroke analysis, breathing technique, sighting technique, video analysis and psychology sold it for me. Fast forward and now having just done the 5 day camp we had a wonderful time learning the technique in beautiful clear sea water conditions. The others in the group also became a close family encouraging and sharing their experiences. Previously the furthest we had swam in open water was 1.9km and that was during a half ironman. On day 4 my open water swim was 5.4km. Mindset and confidence has already changed for next years races. Adam/Gemma warm, welcoming and patient and great fun to be with. Highly recommended camp!! P.S. OMG and the Turkish chocolate cake… 🙂

  14. Becci Emmett

The swim camp lived up to all expectations and exceeded them. Adam and Gemma are a delight and made the whole week such a joy as well as a fantastic coaching opportunity. My stroke definitely improved and has helped me deal more effectively with shoulder and other injuries. The location too is amazing and I really enjoyed staying on for the Aquamasters. Wonderful time all round.

  15. Andy Kosciuszko

I was a part of this swim camp in Turkey back in October 2016, it was a great experience as usual as this wasn’t the first time I have chosen Adam and Ocean Walker to go with for a camp. They are the best in what they do and how they do it. Adam is the most patient person I have ever met, he explained every single technique as many times as I required until I got it right. I could go on and on but the best way to find it is to get yourself down for this fantastic event.

  16. Christopher Leek

What a trip this was. The preparation organisation and execution was all 10 out of 10.
I was concerned about the huge differences in swimming ability, however this seriously wasn’t an issue.
We had extreme individuals such as myself trying to swim the English Channel, to people who had just started out.
Gemma and Adam give you the time you require. You all learn from one another, but not once did I get bored.
Top tip, take more than 1 set of swimming gear! This course in all seriousness allowed me to complete my dream of swimming the English Channel. Not only has the stroke made me faster through the water, I also have a reduction of strokes per minute. Most importantly for me however was understanding mindset, and the power of the brain. I will always be thankful to Adam and Gemma for what this trip gave me and enabled me to achieve

  17. Margareth Timossi

I have never met a coach like Adam Walker!
He gives his soul in everything he does!
His technique makes the difference. He spends all the time he has to make you a better swimmer.
In 4 years without no personal records in 800m at the Swedish Masters Championship.I could make it with 5 seconds better time than 4 years ago.
We hade an unforgetable time in Turkey with many exciting swims . The only thing we regret is that we couldn’t stay longer until the Aquamasters race.

  18. Stuart Munday

WOW! What a fantastic experience. Adam and Gemma are so supportive and passionate about this technique. I’ve been open water swimming for just over a year. I attended Adam’s 1 day course in June 2016. I couldn’t believe the difference it made and wanted to develop my skills further to become the best I could. This course was perfect. I attended this course in October 2016 and my swimming technique had improved dramatically. I am now 20 minutes faster over a 5K swim than I was back in May 2016. I got everything out of the experience I wanted and more. I met lovely people and made some good friends. The location is beautiful, the hotel is excellent, (even the hotel owner is an open water swimmer!) and the Turkish really love their swimming. I would highly recommend staying on to compete in the Aquamasters Championship, a fantastic experience you won’t forget. What an event, so well organised, amazing, you won’t regret it!

  19. Trisha Harvey

My daughter and I went on this holiday last year with Adam and Gemma and we both had a most fantastic week, well we stayed a week, the camp was 5 days. The location is perfect with us swimming in really lovely clear seas as well as outdoor pools for some of our technique sessions. We especially loved the boat trip day as the couple that ran the boat were really lovely, helpful, and we saw some other parts of Turkey. It is a great place to be taught the stroke and Adam is extremely passionate about helping everyone, but of course he could not do it all with out Gemma. I would recommend this camp to help master the stroke, as I certainly needed the 5 days! I absolutely love the stroke, it is hard work but well worth the effort. It looks amazing and so many people have complimented me on the technique. My daughter and I have since gone on to Adam’s Malta Camp and this year we are swimming the North Channel July 2017. All because we had a great experience in Turkey!!

  20. Neil Glover

This course is more than good value, it’s life changing. Adam puts maximum effort into ensuring you grasp the principles of his technique and goes above and beyond what he needs to do. After a teenage competitive swimming career and a long time away from swimming I am a total convert to this technique. It’s graceful and efficient and it puts less pressure on your shoulder tendons. I needed the full 5 days to master this technique and continue to improve back home. The location in Turkey and the Turkish people were amazing . So glad I did it
