Suitable for all abilities
ABILITY LEVEL: Suitable for complete beginners to advanced!
LANGUAGE: English
Adam Walker is coming to Goa with a SPECIAL 3 Day Masterclass to learn the Ocean Walker Technique and also to progress your swimming further if you have seen us before!
WHAT TO EXPECT
3 Day Masterclass DAY 1
In a small group this course will take you through the 5 stages that build up to the Ocean Walker Technique. These stages (or drills) will show you how to position your body to be efficient in the water, help prevent injury and to swim faster for longer.
Adam will give live demos of his stroke and explain the benefits of his swimming style, guiding you individually and in turn, which is filmed for video analysis. Watch your first days progress with an analysis session in the afternoon.
3 Day Masterclass DAY 2
You are straight back into the pool today to re-cap and put into practice what you learned on day one. Two swim sessions with a lunch break inbetween.
3 Day Masterclass DAY 2
Starting with a final swim session in the pool, Adam will work with you on areas that need attention, then filming your progress ready for the final video review.
After the review we join the GOA OPEN WATER SWIMMING CLUB who will provide safety and guidance for a swim in the ocean.
The open water swim will be a 10 minute car journey from our training base.
This is a group session, but we understand that not everyone learns at the same pace. If you need extra time spent in one area we will spend that time with you. If you have mastered a stage quickly we will move you on faster. This is why the masterclasses are suitable for any level or ability of swimmer.

Deborah (Dory) Johns –
Three years ago I was told I needed a total shoulder replacement (TSR). Six months ago I got told by another doctor that if I had a TSR I would never swim again. Two months ago I had another accident that further damaged my arm.
I was so depressed. Swimming is my meditation. It is my therapy to keep my anxiety in check. I was a year away from turning 70 and a future without swimming was inconceivable.
I had followed Adam Walker for several years. So, I decided, as a last ditch effort, that in 2026, I would travel to the UK from Australia to see if Adam’s technique could help me swim pain-free again. This was to be my 70th birthday present to myself.
Little did I know that the swim-Gods were looking after me. I found out that Adam was running a course in October 2025 in Goa, India, at the same time I was going to be there! It was a 3-day course. I signed up immediately.
I had every confidence in Adam being able to teach the technique he had developed. What I wasn’t expecting was the level of patience and dedication both Adam and Zoe displayed. They clearly love what they do.
There were 6 of us on the course. All of us were there for different reasons, all with different swim abilities. Somehow, and I don’t know how, because we were a very diverse group, Adam and Zoe managed each of us with individual care and attention – and never-wavering patience.
I didn’t find all of the course easy. It certainly challenged a life-time’s ingrained swim technique. My brain got a thorough workout as I undid the old muscle memory and welcomed the new technique.
Adam encouraged us to keep at each stage until we ‘got it’. For me that was stages 1 to 3. By the time I got to stage 5 everything just clicked. To finally ‘get it’ was so exciting. And, yes, I was able to use my left arm without any pain whatsoever. It truly was the best 3 days of my life.
Thank you, Adam and Zoe. Thank you for being so generous with your teaching. And thank you for giving me back my ability to swim.

I attended this workshop in Goa. Adam led the workshop and Zoe was of great help in making sure that each of us understood the basics. The stroke is proof of the fact that true innovation can lead to miracles. Adam has come up with this true genius of an innovation where everything works is tandem and in truly the most efficient way for a long distance swim in open water. Its all about the timing of the kick, pull, recovery and rotation which makes swimming so much more efficient. I see it like the Fosbury Flop, invented by Dick Fosbury, who revolutionised high jump forever. This stroke could revolutionise long distance front crawl forever.
Having said this, it takes 5 days to learn this stroke, but a long time to master this stroke. Practice and diligence post the workshop is key, as I am discovering now. Its taking me a while to time my kick in the most efficient way. However, I am sure that I will be at it till this stroke in the way Adam has conceptualised this, becomes a part of my muscle memory.
